Bio
Nick Mendoza is a straight edge punk rocker, designer, and educator. He received a BFA in graphic design from Brigham Young University and MFA in graphic design from the University of Utah. Nick uses art and design to create awareness and dialog about social issues facing our society. He is a proponent of design for good and tries to incorporate it in his work whenever possible.
Statement
In response to statements made by Robert Unanue the CEO of Goya Foods who praised President Trump saying, “We’re all truly blessed, at the same time, to have leader like President Trump who is a builder” (July 9, 2020, nbcnews.com). The CEO of a company that has deep roots in the Latin American community in the form of consumers as well as employees, praising a man that dehumanizes with a variety of attacks on the very people Goya calls family is unacceptable. By boycotting Goya products, the people can send a message to the CEO that supporting a President that marginalizes anyone should not be supported.
