(in) brief color fields

A 15 minute audio work of improvised digital and analog sounds delivered on audio cassette along side of a collection of risograph prints.

Initially begun as a call and response between the suggestive pairing of color names. Files were passed between hands and when completed images were cultivated to accompany each title.

In summer of 2024 via invitation to participate in the ConCurrents exhibit at the University of Iowa, large format iterations of the rise prints were created to be displayed alongside the diminutive risograph prints and cassettes. Listening, like viewing, can be both a private and public experience and this extension of color fields allowed for a simultaneous micro and macro experience.
